to paint directly from nature, capture the ever changing light and the fleeting glimpse of an animal in its own habitat. On our safari you will be able to sketch the wild animals on the hoof and Gaelle will share her skills in drawing, painting in watercolours and acrylics and the use of pastels and alternative mediums.

Each day of your holiday we will venture out to different locations where sitting comfortably in peace and tranquility, surrounded by the flora and fauna of Africa, Gaelle will encourage exploring different mediums expressing all that you see around you.

You will learn how to produce working drawings and quick pen and wash sketches to use later to produce finished art works.
Back at our safari camp you will learn how develop a painting from the sketch in the medium of your choice. 

Lessons devoted to figurative painting will take place in a Maasai manyatta amid the vivid colours evident in their dress and adornment. We will have regular reviews of progress made and comments are encouraged by fellow artists on this vacation.

Gaelle will have all the mediums on hand for her demonstrations, and although we will supply boards and a variety of paper and sketching pencils, after booking your holiday you will receive a list of suggested painting materials and equipment to bring with you.
